T.A.I.F. from Afghanistan

If you like Fridays in the U.S.A., you would probably love them in Afghanistan. Why? Well, let’s compare Fridays in the two places. If you’re like many Americans you wake up early Friday morning then spend the whole day working, or at school, waiting for the clock to tick its way to the weekend you’ve been starving for since Monday. In Afghanistan you get the whole day off. Now, is there really any competition?

Okay, there might be. Especially if you’re a night owl, or treasure your leisurely Saturdays. Come Saturday in Afghanistan it’s back to the grind. The country has the western workweek beat by half a day- Saturday through Thursday afternoon instead of Monday through Friday. It all boils down to whether you’re willing to trade Saturday and Sunday for Thursday afternoon and Friday off? Doesn’t sound like the best trade? Well, weigh both options next Friday morning when the alarm goes off and you might be surprised at what you’re willing to sacrifice.

Odds are you don’t know too much about Afghanistan. If you want to learn more about the country, click here for a list of DLC resources. Or, send me an email. I’ll be in Afghanistan for the next few days.
