Women-only bank launched in Germany
In Germany, a bank has recently been launched that will serve women exclusively. The founder of the “Frauenbank” says that this is aimed at providing a non-patronizing environment for women who are used to dealing with traditional bank managers.
Many gender-specific corporations already exist, such as women’s only fitness clubs, clothings stores, and even police stations in Brazil. Now, the only first-world country to have a female leader (Chancellor Merkel) is beginning the first female-only bank.
From a male or a female perspective, is this a step forward or a step backward in the women’s rights movement?
