Spain at the Seattle International Film Festival

To relate to the average American youth that is longing to experience a domesticated foreign film about Spain, the Seattle International Film Festival will screen the American-made “Americano.” Starring Joshua Jackson (yes, Pacey from Dawson’s Creek), the film follows three college graduates in the final days of their stay in Pamplona, Spain. Every year in July, Pamplona is home to the “Running of the Bulls” ceremony that kicks off a nine-day festival honoring the city’s patron saint, San Fermin. The celebration includes fireworks, parades, music, dances, bullfights, and religious ceremonies, all of which the characters in the movie experience during their time in Pamplona. During their time in the city, Joshua Jackson’s character, Chris, meets a Spanish lady with whom he becomes romantically involved, and later, must decide between staying with her in Spain or pursuing his career aspirations.
Because I am a sucker for romance, foreign film, and anything Spain-related, I will be seeing the SIFF screening of “Americano” which will be shown by the festival at these times:
Wednesday, 08 June 7PM – Egyptian Theatre
Friday, 10 June 2PM – Harvard Exit
