Ready or Not, Here She Comes

A new era is possibly on the horizon for Germany. For the first time in History, a woman may be elected as Chancellor. At 51, Angela Merck will more than likely be running against Gerhard Schroeder in the 2006 elections. She is currently the leader of Christian Democratic Union, which sits in oppostion to the Social Democrats in the Bundestag. In the upcoming elections, she is in support of the anti-forgeigner campaigns and has been praised for her instinct for power and her tactical abilities. She is responsible for the exploitation of the CDU's financial problems and currently an advocate of "Politics without lies". Elections are to be held early next year as declared by present Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder, after his party suffered a defeating loss due to the severe unemployment rate. He believes that he has "saying he lost the mandate he needs to fix the country's struggling economy." Only time will tell what the future holds for Germany.
